In Very Good condition with a Very Good dust jacket. Blue cloth covered boards with gold lettering on the spine; mild edge wear to covers; binding tight; pages clean and unmarked. Pictorial dust jacket with photographic illustration of an Army Air Forces trainer aircraft and Texas hill country on the front and a WWII bomber in flight on the back; a one-inch tear to the paper over the top edge of the front cover near the spine and a few other smaller nicks; light bumping to the jacket edges; mild shelf wear with a bit of fading to the spine. Now in an archival quality (removable) Brodart cover.History of Hondo Army Air Field, the navigation training school built in the small Texas town of Hondo, some thirty miles southwest of San Antonio, in 1942. Through the remainder of World War II the quiet farming community of Hondo grew from 2,500 to 10,000 in population.
