In good condition. Original tan printed wrappers, titled in black. Light bumping and creasing to covers and a small tear to the top edge of the front cover along the spine. Light overall scuffing, toning, and soiling to covers as well. Binding sound. Pages lightly toned but otherwise unmarked. A technical manual presenting a straightforward method for analyzing rigid frames and continuous beams using restraining stiffnesses. First issued in 1934 (copyright by Ellison and Russell), this 1936 third edition contains a prefatory discussion of method and derivations, with sections covering uniform and variable moments of inertia, adaptation of slope deflection equations, translation and settlement of supports, and general equations for moment calculations. Tables of coefficients, worked examples, and frame diagrams support practical application. Contents include: Part 1. Analysis of Continuous Frames by Method of Restraining Stiffnesses. Uniform Moments of Inertia; Part 2. Adaptation of Methods for Variable Moments of Inertia; Part 3. Adaptation of Method for Translation or Settlement of Supports; Part 4. General Equations.
