Condition & notes
In Very Good condition. Pictorial front panel with three Victorian gables and a reproduced "Greetings from Long Beach" postcard. Small spot to front panel above the gables, small spot to rear panel, mild shelf and edge wear. Folds clean and intact. Otherwise unmarked. Prepared by the City's Office of Neighborhood and Historic Preservation and financed in part with National Park Service funds administered by the California State Office of Historic Preservation. One side unfolds to a Downtown Walking Map keyed to 44 officially designated landmarks, each with address, date, architect and a short note: Acres of Books, Villa Riviera, The Breakers, Walker's Department Store, the Masonic Temple, Lord Mayor's Inn, the WPA mosaic mural from the Municipal Auditorium and others. Reverse gives an illustrated history of the city from the Rancho Los Cerritos and Los Alamitos land grants through the Pike, the 1921 Signal Hill oil strike, the 1933 earthquake and Streamline Moderne rebuilding, to the arrival of the Queen Mary in 1967.
