Ikatan Penerbit Indonesia (IKAPI), [No date: circa 1983-1985]. Wraps, 13 pp.; 21 x 15 cm; front cover after "Making a Lontar," ink drawing by G. Nj. Lempad, Ubud, Bali, 1956 (reproduced from Claire Holt, Art in Indonesia, Cornell, 1967), printed in red, black and white.

Condition & notes

In Very Good condition. Staple bound. Black illustrated paper covers, rear cover white; light bumping and creasing to edges and corners, mild shelf and edge wear, and a hint of color loss to edges and spine. Binding tight. Mild toning to endpapers. Pages clean, with a thin tan line across upper margin of p. 8. Otherwise unmarked. Promotional directory issued by the Indonesian Publishers Association for its stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair, printed "not for sale." Opening statement, "Promising Future in Book Publishing: Indonesia," pitches a nation of 27 provinces with rising school and university enrollment, and gives IKAPI's membership as 210 publishers. Then 18 member houses seeking foreign partners, each with director, founding date, address, telephone, telex and subjects, among them Gramedia, Djambatan, Erlangga, Grafiti Pers, Dunia Pustaka Jaya, Pustaka Sinar Harapan (Aristides Katoppo) and Mutiara Sumber Widya (H. Oemar Bakry). Latest founding listed is 1982; Jakarta entries have five-digit postal codes, introduced in Jakarta in 1983 and nationwide in 1985, while Bandung and Bekasi entries have none.
