Condition & notes

In Very Good condition. Pictorial paper covers, scored half an inch from the spine on front and back as issued so the covers fold open. Light bumping to edges and corners, mild shelf and edge wear. Faint surface marks to dark blue back cover. Binding tight. Inscribed and signed by Ann Johnston on the title page in black ink, personalized to a previous owner, with a two-line greeting above the title and her signature below the plate. Pages clean and unmarked. Catalog of the exhibition at Coos Art Museum, Coos Bay, Oregon, produced and co-curated by Ann Johnston and Jeannette DeNicolis Meyer. Six Pacific Northwest art quilters: Johnston and Meyer with Cynthia Corbin of Woodinville, Washington, Quinn Zander Corum and Trisha Hassler of Portland, and Nancy Erickson of Missoula, Montana. Six chapters, one for each question the artists were often asked and asked each other: language, theme, voice, process, challenge, message. Each artist answers in turn, beside a color plate of her work. Foreword by MJ Koreiva, Executive Director of Coos Art Museum. Artist biographies with portraits. Designed by Ann Marra. Produced with support from the Oregon Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. Back cover has comments from curators at the American Folk Art Museum, the Textielmuseum in Tilburg, and Coos Art Museum. Johnston works in hand-dyed cloth and is the author of Color by Accident and Color by Design.
