In Very Good condition. Cream illustrated paper covers with full-width French flaps, Lincoln's stovepipe hat on front and red-and-white flag stripes on rear and inner flaps; 1 inch patch at upper corner of front cover where a sticker was removed, leaving the bare torn surface and some tackiness, and mild shelf wear. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Catalogue of the exhibition held at the Reagan Library June 1 to September 30, 2013, mounted for the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and co-curated by Beverly Hills collector Louise Taper, whose Lincolniana supplies many of the objects shown. Twelve chapters follow Lincoln from Kentucky to the assassination and his memory, each with a short essay and captioned photographs of the exhibited pieces: the Hildene stovepipe hat, the Hesler and Brady portraits, Lincoln's July 1858 letter to Henry Asbury drafted a month before the Freeport debate, Robert Todd Lincoln's copy of the 1860 Political Debates, the Charleston Mercury secession extra, a Union greatcoat and Colt M-1860 revolver, the Volk life mask and hands, Lincoln's gold pocket watch and fob, the manuscript of the December 1864 message to Congress, and Robert Todd Lincoln's 1865 commission signed by his father. Lenders include the Library of Congress, National Archives, Ford's Theatre, the Kentucky Historical Society, the Zaricor Flag Collection, Seth Kaller, and DreamWorks Studios (set pieces from the 2012 film).
