In Very Good condition with a Very Good dust jacket. Glossy pictorial paper over boards repeat the dust jacket image, with mild shelf and edge wear. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Pictorial dust jacket shows overall shelf wear, several nicks and closed tears of 3/4 inch or less along edges, light creasing along edges and to back panel, and light scuffing to front and back panels. Now in an archival quality (removable) Brodart cover. [From back cover] The Victorian era provided Britain with perhaps the most varied and colourful buildings in our history, mirroring the great changes that were transforming society and technology. The period embraced revivals of Greek, Renaissance, Egyptian and Gothic styles, and new methods in construction of iron, glass and concrete, as industry demanded entirely new types of buildings such as railway stations, skyscrapers and suburban housing, so transforming the towns. The final thirty pages are a separately indexed biographical reference, Architects and Buildings of the Period, giving dates and building lists for several hundred architects.
