In Very Good condition with a Very Good dust jacket. Grey cloth boards, silver lettering to front and spine, with mild shelf wear. Binding tight. Interior clean and unmarked. Color dust jacket reproduces a detail of Brown's painting Daydream Nation (2017), unclipped, with mild edge and shelf wear. Now in an archival quality (removable) Brodart cover. Glenn Brown (British, born 1966), a Turner Prize nominee represented by Gagosian, is among the most prominent painters of the post-YBA generation, known for transforming appropriated images, from Old Masters such as Rembrandt, Fragonard, and Tiepolo to science-fiction illustrators, into swirling, uncanny works whose thick impasto is an illusion on a perfectly smooth surface. His paintings trade in the low seven figures at auction, with a record above eight million dollars. Drawn from the Peterson Family Collection, the exhibition gathered eight recent works, two paintings, five drawings after Tiepolo and Bloemaert, and a painted bronze, reproduced here in color with essays by Jill Hartz, Miranda Callander, and Emily Shinn. Works include This Island Earth, Daydream Nation, Mother's Tongue, Poor Moon, and Trivial Pursuit.
