In Good condition. Green illustrated wraps with bumping and creasing to edges and corners, moderate shelf and edge wear, toning to edges, and some scuffing. Soiling to front and rear covers; heavier toning to spine with some color loss along top edge. Staple bound; binding tight. Previous owner's name and number in ink at the top corner of title page. Pages otherwise mildly toned but unmarked, with occasional light foxing. A compilation of the psychic readings of Edgar Cayce (1877-1945), the "sleeping prophet," on the ancient Maya, drawn from the more than fourteen thousand trance readings preserved by the Association for Research and Enlightenment, the organization Cayce founded at Virginia Beach in 1931. Following Cayce's account, it traces the Maya not to ordinary origins but to refugees from the destruction of Atlantis and Mu, and connects them to the legendary Hall of Records said to be concealed in the Yucatan, one of three such repositories (with Egypt and Bimini) in Cayce lore. An early and foundational title in that tradition, later expanded by writers such as John Van Auken; of interest to collectors of Cayce and the A.R.E., of Atlantis and lost-civilization esoterica, and of ancient-Maya mysteries. Cover design by Ray Cullis, the central panel taken from the "Destruction of the World by Water" in the Codex Dresdensis, one of the few surviving Maya books.
