In Very Good condition. Pictorial paper covers, color reproduction of Durand's Early Morning at Cold Spring to front; light bumping and creasing to edges and corners, scuffing along spine with some color loss and fading to spine, light soiling and spotting to back cover. Binding tight, pages clean and unmarked. Exhibition catalogue for the Montclair Art Museum retrospective (October 24 to November 28, 1971), the first major twentieth-century exhibition devoted to Asher B. Durand (1796-1886), a founder of the Hudson River School. With a critical essay and catalogue by David B. Lawall documenting 83 works in engraving, drawing, and paint, a foreword by museum director Kathryn E. Gamble, an introduction, a chronology, and a selected bibliography.
