In Good condition, no dust jacket. Publisher's green cloth, lettered in black on the spine and front board, with light spotting and soiling to the covers, light edge wear and bumping, and a little creasing at the spine ends. Binding tight. Endpapers heavily browned; text block edges lightly spotted; pages lightly aged with occasional foxing, otherwise clean and unmarked.A Regency sporting romance: young Squire Hardcastle, a member of the Corinthian Club, drives a flock of geese from London to Brighton to win a wager with Lord Barrymore, and along the way rescues a girl driving runaway horses, who proves to be the very lady he has separately wagered to marry within a twelvemonth. "Ben Bolt" was the pen name of Ottwell Binns (1872-1935), a British minister turned prolific author of adventure and mystery fiction. The novel was filmed the same year as the 1924 British silent picture The Gay Corinthian, directed by Arthur Rooke, with Victor McLaglen (later an Academy Award winner) as Squire Hardcastle and Betty Faire.
