In very good condition. Yellow pictorial paper covers (circular iceberg photograph on front) show mild shelf wear with light bumping and creasing to edges; spine and back cover faded from sun. Binding tight. Front free endpaper covered with commemorative rubber stamps and crew signatures from a previous owner's November 2005 voyage to the station aboard the M/V Lyubov Orlova, including official Vernadsky Station stamps, Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition stamps dated 2005 and 2006, and Argentine Islands cachets. Otherwise unmarked. Souvenir history of Ukraine's Antarctic research station, the former British Faraday Station on the Argentine Islands, transferred to Ukraine on February 6, 1996. Covers the station's history, research programs (meteorology, ozone, ionosphere, glaciology), and the wildlife and environment of the Antarctic Peninsula, with text columns set in decorative typographic shapes.
