In Very Good condition, no dust jacket. Green cloth boards, black pictorial vignette of a river bridge blocked on front cover, gilt lettering and gilt bands at head and foot of spine. Mild shelf wear with a bit of scuffing to front cover. Binding tight. Interior clean and unmarked apart from light underlining within the facsimile text (pp. 46-47) that is part of the reproduced original. Previous owner's ink address stamp to rear endpaper. A history and topography of the parish of Wye in Kent, written by W. S. Morris, the village doctor, and first printed at Canterbury in 1842. Drawing on Philipott, Lambarde, Camden, and parish records, Morris traces Wye from its British and Roman origins through its principal manors (Olantigh and Raymonds), the monastic college founded under Cardinal Kempe, the monuments and brasses of its church, and its leading families. Retains the original list of subscribers. This facsimile was produced to raise funds for the Lady Joanna Thornhill (Endowed) School in Wye.
