In Very Good condition. Glossy pictorial paper covers (front shows a maritime painting of a two-masted schooner under full sail beside a red day-marker buoy; back shows three highlight images: a bone ship model, a polychrome scrimshaw piece, and a painting of sailing vessels at anchor) with mild bumping increasing to edges and corners and mild shelf wear. Binding is tight. Interior pages are clean. Otherwise unmarked.Catalogue for the two-day Maritime Arts at Auction sale held by Robert C. Eldred Co. of East Dennis, Massachusetts on Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 19, 2013, comprising 1,083 lots and featuring the celebrated Benno Brenninkmeyer collection of rare scientific instruments, whaling and scrimshaw artifacts, ship models, Napoleonic prisoner-of-war bone work, and fine and scarce maritime books. The Brenninkmeyer collection of bone ship models was, at the time of the sale, widely recognized as the largest collection of its type ever to come to auction, with the next-largest holdings residing at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis.
