Pictorial paper covers with a black-and-white photograph (front shows Invernada in the Old Movie Colony; back shows the Willard/Moorten home from the Palm Springs Desert Museum collection) framed by a green and orange decorative border with Southwest-style corner medallions. Mild shelf wear. Faded original price sticker at lower right corner of back cover; original Palm Springs Preservation Foundation membership sticker also affixed to back cover, both retained. Binding is tight. Interior pages are clean. Otherwise unmarked.Published by the Palm Springs Preservation Foundation in November 2003 as the catalogue and tribute journal for the Foundation's annual home tour event, dedicated to the memory of Professor Carl Prout, the Foundation's founder. The tour focused on Palm Springs examples of the Spanish Colonial Revival style of the 1920s and 1930s, tracing its origins in Spain, its filtering through the 1915 Panama-California International Exposition at Balboa Park, and its adaptation to the Coachella Valley by Pasadena and Palm Springs architects working for movie-colony and desert-resort clients. Lead essay by Andy Sotta.
