Condition & notes

In good condition. Blue and cream illustrated paper covers with Guatemalan textile motif. Covers show light edgewear, scuffing, small stains, and mild toning. Binding tight (staple bound). Previous owner's name and address (CSULB) stamped at top corner of the table of contents, along with the original price written in ink in the top corner. Otherwise pages are lightly toned but unmarked. Not ex-library. Exhibition catalog issued in conjunction with the show held at the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, from February 29 to October 1, 1976. Text by Carol Stout; illustrations by Lynn Cunningham and Carol Stout; exhibit design by Peter Wells. Contents include: Introduction; Textiles; Backstrap loom (Winding the warp, Dressing the loom, Weaving); Bibliography. Illustrated list includes examples of belts, hair ribbons, jaspe (ikat) patterns, huipils, tzutes, and traditional motifs from various highland Guatemalan towns.
