It documents 135 objects, including hanging scrolls, Buddhist handscrolls, rare Chinese ceramics (Jian ware, Jizhou ware, celadon-glazed porcelains) and early printed books from the Song (960 - 1279) and Yuan (1271 - 1368) dynasties. [From the Seikado Museum (translated)] This exhibition showcased a curated selection of Chinese art from the Song and Yuan dynasties held in the Seikado Bunko Art Museum's collection, including ceramics, paintings, calligraphy, and printed books. Special focus was given to the celebrated Yohen Tenmoku tea bowl - a National Treasure - and rare Song and Yuan dynasty printed editions of Chinese classics. The exhibition emphasized the refined aesthetics and intellectual depth of the period, revealing the development of Chan (Zen) Buddhism, scholarly culture, and advancements in ceramic technology.
