Condition & notes

In very good condition with light bumping to edges and light overall scuffing and fading. Binding tight (staple bound). Pages clean and unmarked. Not Ex-library. Published as the 16th booklet in the Kner Printing Museum series, this slim volume gathers contemporary press reviews and critical commentary on the finely produced books of Tevan Andor (1889 - 1955), a major figure in 20th - century Hungarian private press and literary publishing. Tevan, who studied in Vienna and led his father's press in Bekescsaba, became known for his sophisticated typographic vision, cultural mission, and production of attractively designed literary editions -especially the Tevan Kpnyvtar series (1912 - 1948). Includes commentary on Tevan's publishing achievements, his relationship to Kner Imre's style, and his typographic legacy. It also reproduces selected pages and illustrated covers by artists such as Diveky Jozsef and Major Henrik. Provides both historical context and critical reception of Tevan's contribution to Hungarian book arts and literary publishing.
