The book compiles photographs from the exhibition "Il ritratto nella cultura popolare" ("Portraiture in Popular Culture"), held in Calamonaci, Sicily, from August 20 to September 20, 1999. This exhibition was organized by the Associazione socio-culturale "Michele Palminteri" and featured a collection of portraits from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, sourced from local family archives and the Municipal Historical Archive.
