[From Preface] The information contained in this directory was compiled from a questionnaire sent to all booksellers known to me who are engaged in the business of selling out-of-print books and whose businesses are located in and around the cities of Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and San Diego with points in between. For their co-operation in making this directory possible I am indeed grateful. The arrangement of this directory is divided into four sections: dealers operating a bookstore and open to the public, mail-order only booksellers, dealers in back- issue periodicals, and a subject index to specialty. It is hoped that this directory will serve as a useful booksellers listed, and will be a trove of nearly four million books introduction to the key to the treasure awaiting discovery.
