Condition & notes

In acceptable condition. Illustrated paper covers have several small nicks and tears and creasing to edges. Moderate overall scuffing and aging to covers as well. Covers have separated from remainder of text block which is staple bound and still intact. Pages are lightly aged but unmarked with occasional spotting and soiling. Not Ex-library. Includes 8 colored plates. A good reading copy. A promotional booklet intended to showcase products such as Kingsford's Cornstarch, Karo syrup, and Mazola oil. The recipes demonstrate how corn products can be incorporated into common dishes, offering variations on traditional cooking techniques. For example, cornstarch is used in pie crusts and sauces, and Karo syrup is featured in dessert recipes. The book is attributed to Hewitt, a former associate editor at Ladies' Home Journal, which makes it stand out from other company-sponsored cookbooks of the time.
