Condition & notes

In acceptable condition. Illustrated paper covers have a 1" chip to the top edge of the front cover near the fold of the spine and several other smaller nicks and tears and creasing along edges. Moderate overall scuffing, aging and soiling to covers as well with the color scuffed of along the top of the spine and along the edges of the covers. Staple bound with middle page separated from staples and laid-in but all pages are present. Light to moderate overall aging and spotting with rust stains around staples. Not Ex-library. A solid reading copy. According to the Sunmaid website, this booklet was issued in 1920. The booklet was published by the Sunland Sales Cooperative Association, which later became Sun-Maid. It promotes California's dried fruit industry, focusing on raisins, figs, prunes, and peaches and includes ads at the back for each of these products. The recipes inside showcase various ways to use these fruits in everyday cooking, emphasizing their health benefits and versatility. The booklet was part of a broader marketing effort to highlight the role of California's Central Valley in producing high-quality dried fruits.
