In good condition. Light overall aging and soiling to brochure but pages are otherwise unmarked. NOT Ex-library. NO remainder marks. Black and white illustrations. "Scene of one of the last important Indian resistances to the westward march of the white man's civilization on June 25-26, in which Lt. Col. George A. Custer and his immediate command met defeat and death". Contents include: Causes of the Campaign Against the Sioux in 1876; A Three Pronged Campagn; The Battle Begins; Reno's Fight in the Valley; The Reno-Benteen Siege; Terry and Gibbon Arrive - The Custer Fight Reconstructed; The Monument; How to Reach the Monument; About Your Visit; Administration; Mission. Includes black and white photo reproductions, map and illustrations. An interesting look at the battle and battlefield from a late 1950's perspective, which had changed noticeably from earlier brochures of the 1940's which had emphasized the heroism of Custer and his men. The language used here is less patriotic and slightly more balanced, and including more information on the Native American tribes involved in the battle and their perspectives (although still not enough by today's standards).
