In Very Good condition. Illustrated paper covers, color reproduction of Negri's Betulle (Birch), 2008, to front; light bumping to edges and corners, mild shelf wear, faint surface scratches at head of front cover, small creases along spine fold, scattered small specks on pale panel of rear cover. Staple bound; binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Catalogue of an exhibition at Brian Marki Fine Art, Portland, Oregon, October 10 - November 10, 2012. Marki, Negri's American dealer, chose the works with the artist at his home and studio in the Palazzo Cavalcabo near Mantua in June 2012, two months before Negri's death. Works from his personal collection, marked with an asterisk, appear with paintings from earlier exhibitions and catalogs not previously offered for sale, all oil on canvas or board: peasant figures, harvest scenes, still lifes and landscapes from the 1970s to 2012. Captions give dimensions, date and prior catalog. Marki calls this the second American catalog of Negri's work, after Sandro Negri - Fifty Years of Painting (2010). Born in Virgilio, near Mantua, in 1940, Negri had his first solo show in 1970 in Luzzara, where Cesare Zavattini encouraged him, and a retrospective at the Palazzo Ducale, Mantua, in 1993.
