Songbook of eight original Christmas songs by Randy Hongo (1947-2017), the Hilo-born Christian recording artist and six-time Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner who founded Christian Vision with his wife Gay in 1982, issued with a CD of 15 songs recorded by Randy, Gay and Andrew Hongo. The songs (copyright 1983-1995) celebrate Christmas in Hawaii with trade-wind, hula and surf imagery; Ua Hiki Mai Ke Ali'i has a Hawaiian-language chorus. Between the songs, each family member contributes a short Christmas memory: Andrew Hongo on childhood Christmas trees, Liberty House and Punahou; Gay Hongo on the last Christmas in the family's Manoa house before Andrew left for college in 1995; and Randy Hongo on his conversion through the Youth For Christ club at Hilo High School in December 1964. Introduction signed by all three; music transcribed by Bill Wiley; songbook designed by Craig Hirasaki. Contents: Christmas in the Islands Again; Coming Home for Christmas; Christmas, Hawaiian Style; We May Not Have Snow; Ua Hiki Mai Ke Ali'i; Christmas at Our House; Rejoice!; Good News.
