Single issue of the bimonthly collectors' magazine on antique and collectible silver, edited by Beulah D. Hodgson. Written in February 1980, VeNette's "The Modern Yo-Yo, Silver" explains the Comex futures market and Nelson Bunker Hunt's buying during silver's run to $48 an ounce, from the antique dealer's side of the counter; an editor's note records the fall that followed. E. H. LeBaker reports on the General Services Administration's 1980 sale of the Treasury's hoard of Carson City silver dollars. Robert Alan Green continues his catalog of Adirondack souvenir spoons (items 23-38, with 25 figures), and Charles H. Carpenter, Jr. describes an 1852 Gorham spoon engraved for the Rhode Island State Fair as a candidate for the earliest American souvenir spoon. Also includes Primrose Rostron on wedding silver, with apostle spoons and cow creamers from the Victoria and Albert Museum, reader questions on marks and patterns, and dealer advertisements and classifieds with period flatware prices.
