In Very Good condition. Cream stiff paper covers illustrated in black. Loose leaves, three-hole punched, held by a single brass paper fastener through the top hole. Mild shelf and edge wear. Small spot to left margin of title page. Otherwise clean and unmarked. Instruction book for ten English country dances from John Playford's The English Dancing Master, written to accompany a video and a soundtrack recorded at slow learning tempo and full revel tempo. Illustrated step-by-step section on honours, arming, siding, setting, slipping and other basic figures, then the figures for each dance set out A1 through B3, with Playford dates. Author Giles Hill of Sweetwater taught English country dance in the Society for Creative Anachronism, where he was made a Laurel in 1988 in the Kingdom of Caid; editor Laura Crockett (Laura de los Angeles), who calls herself the Headmistress, founded the dance school behind the series.
