In Very Good condition. Glossy pictorial paper covers (the church of St. Marien on front, plain pale green rear) with mild shelf wear; hinge crease along front and rear covers as issued. Small patch of surface loss on rear cover where a label was removed. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Two works in one volume, issued for the parish's 125th anniversary. The first is an unchanged reprint of the 296-page 1968 Festschrift zur Hundertjahrfeier (printed in Ensdorf by Hans Waindinger): the separation of Ensdorf from the parish of Lisdorf and its first pastor, later auxiliary bishop, Carl Ernst Schrod; the parish and village history from 1868 through the 1935-36 enlargement of the church, the two wartime evacuations of 1939 and 1944-45 (when some 3,000 villagers sheltered in the mine galleries), and the postwar rebuilding under Pastor Josef Goergen; the church bells and organs, the Schwesternhaus and kindergarten, the Hasenberg pilgrimage site, the Catholic school, the village as a civil community, and a section on Ensdorf as an industrial community with the Grube Duhamel colliery (schematic map of the shafts and galleries of the Saarlouis coalfield from the 1750 Griesborn drift to the 1958 Neyschacht, geology of the Schwalbach, Wahlschied and Grangeleisen seams), the steam power station and the brickworks; then the village associations, from the Berg- und Huettenarbeiterverein St. Barbara to the pigeon fanciers; a list of war dead; Ferdinand Rupp's population chart 1313-1967; and a roll of donors.
