Condition & notes

In Good condition. Yellow illustrated card covers (three children at a play store on front) show moderate shelf wear, light creasing, a small abrasion at upper left corner of front cover, and scattered gray smudges and spotting to rear cover; spine edge rubbed. Staple bound; cover pulling at the bottom staple, binding otherwise sound. Pages toned, with light soiling along fore-edge of a few leaves; entirely unused, with no coloring, cutting, or pasting on any page and the name box on the front cover blank. Kindergarten readiness workbook designed as the individual-practice companion to Follett's Kindergraph Kit (150 flannel-board figures) and Primary Easel, neither included here. Six units: reading readiness (eye movement, visual discrimination, rhymes and sounds, and story pages for Little Red Riding Hood, the Gingerbread Boy, the Little Red Hen, Peter Rabbit, and the Three Billy Goats Gruff), number readiness, nature activities, social studies (community helpers, a store front, a fold-up city street), forms and concepts, and holidays from Thanksgiving through Mother's Day. Each spread is a large outline drawing to color, cut, fold, or paste, with the directions for the teacher set in the margin. WorldCat records the original issue with a 1951 copyright; this printing carries the 1954 copyright and keys its contents to the 1956 edition of the Kit. Follett reissued the book in 1959 retitled My Kindergraph: Readiness Activities, so this is the last form of the Directed Activities title. Unused copies of consumable workbooks of this kind seldom survive.
