Anthology of poetry, short fiction and memoir by the Knocknarea Writers, a women's writing group in Co. Sligo working on the Amherst Writers & Artists method. Pat Schneider (1934-2020), who founded AWA and wrote "Writing Alone & With Others" (Oxford, 2003), contributes two poems and the back cover statement; two members trained as AWA leaders in Amherst, Massachusetts in 1996 and carried the method back to Sligo, where four further writing groups grew out of their workshops. Among the thirty contributors is Elaine Garvey, whose debut novel "The Wardrobe Department" (Canongate, 2025) was shortlisted for the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year, and Peggie Gallagher, who won the Listowel Writers' Week poetry collection prize in 2012.
