In very good condition. Covers show mild shelf wear throughout with light bumping and creasing to edges. Glossy white covers of the 1992 catalogue have a hint of toning. Bindings tight. Prices realized recorded in black ink beside the descriptions for the first fifteen lots of the June 13, 1995 catalogue; pages otherwise clean and unmarked. Laid in: prices realized sheets for the June 23, 1992, June 13, 1995 and February 20, 1996 sales, addendum for June 13, 1995, addendum and corrections for June 16, 1998, and a John Moran bidder paddle card numbered 162. John Moran opened in Pasadena in 1969 and through the 1990s handled the California plein air and Impressionist market; in 2001 the house became the first to sell a painting by a California artist above a million dollars, Guy Rose's Early Morning, Summertime. These five sales run 806 lots between them. Each entry gives artist with life dates, the town the artist worked in, title, medium, support, dimensions, signature placement, provenance where known, and a presale estimate, followed by an artists' index. Names recur across the run: Edgar Payne, William Wendt, Maurice Braun, Granville Redmond, Marion Kavanagh Wachtel, Hanson Puthuff, Paul Lauritz, Anna Hills, Donna Schuster, Colin Campbell Cooper, Alson Clark, Albert DeRome, Emil Kosa Jr., Gunnar Widforss, Joseph Kleitsch and Milford Zornes.
