Eric A. Johnson, the landscape designer behind the Desert Willow golf resort and Palm Desert's Civic Center Park, and David Harbison, the CVWD water management specialist who established the valley's CIMIS stations and helped shape the 1992 Water Conservation Landscaping Act, both died before this revised edition appeared; the book carries a dedication to them.
