In very good condition. Glossy black pictorial covers reproduce the cover painting, Lifestyle (2006), across the middle. Front cover scored parallel to the spine to open flat, as issued. Rubbing along the bottom edge with small white marks where the black has worn through. Binding tight. Pages clean. Otherwise unmarked. Issued for the exhibition at Teo + Namfah Gallery, Bangkok, June 28 to July 15, 2007, the artist's first international exhibition. Perkins worked in Thailand through 2006 and produced more than fifty pieces; James Menges documented the series in stills and video and supplies the text and photographs here. The paintings are collage-built, acrylic and spray acrylic layered with rubber stamp ink, torn papers, newspaper, poster fragments and vinyl letters, Thai lettering worked across the surfaces. Every plate carries title, year, media and dimensions, and Menges's photographs of the artist at work run alongside, so the making is documented as fully as the results. Perkins (b. San Antonio, 1954) holds an MFA in screenwriting and directing from the film division at Columbia University; his artist's book "a man ought to know that . . .", a wry look at men and masculinity, is in the permanent collection of artists' books at the Museum of Modern Art. The year after this show he was the only non-Asian artist selected for the first Fusing International Biennale in Taiwan. Contents: Lifestyle Art Project; Steven P.
