In good condition. Cream illustrated paper covers. 1/2 inch tear to bottom cover near spine. Light bumping to edges and corners. Light overall shelf wear and toning. Binding tight, staple bound. Pages lightly toned but otherwise clean and unmarked. Laid-in pre-sale estimate sheet present. Two hundred thirty-two lots of English, American and Continental silver, sold in New York on 24 April 1974. Consignors included Bernice Chrysler Garbisch, daughter of Walter P. Chrysler and, with her husband Edgar, assembler of the most comprehensive collection of American naive painting ever formed, much of it now at the National Gallery of Art; Mrs. Webster B. Todd, mother of the future New Jersey governor Christine Todd Whitman; Barton W. Emanuel of Palm Beach; Albert Emanuel II; and the estate of Mrs. Arthur I. Harris. Makers represented include Paul de Lamerie, Paul Storr, Hester Bateman, Robert Garrard and Tiffany. The sale closed with a set of four George II salt cellars by de Lamerie, London 1742.
