In very good condition. Glossy pictorial covers in white and pale blue show mild shelf wear, with light bumping to corners and a small bend to the tip of the upper fore-edge corner. A few small dark specks and light rubbing to white front panel. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Laid in are the original Frankfurter Munzhandlung invoice dated 20 April 1995, an unused absentee bid form, and a letter from Schweizerischer Bankverein (Deutschland) AG of the same month. Three-day sale of 3003 lots at the Hotel Frankfurter Hof, 22 to 24 May 1995, devoted to the coinage of the southern German cities and territories, running from medieval pfennigs and bracteates through city talers and goldgulden to a closing group of world gold that ends on American double eagles. Grading tables and conditions of sale in German, English, French and Italian, alphabetical index of mints and places, and a list of every Davenport number represented in the sale, which lets a taler collector check the offering against a want list at a glance. Frankfurter Munzhandlung was then a subsidiary of Schweizerischer Bankverein, and the catalogue closes with a directory of the bank's offices from Bahrain to Tokyo. Schweizerischer Bankverein merged into UBS three years later. Front cover reproduces a city-view taler of Regensburg, rear cover a Rottweil eagle taler of 1623.
