In Very Good condition. Square illustrated stiff paper covers with light bumping to corners, mild soiling, light surface scratches to the front cover image, and a small reddish stain at the fore edge of the front cover. Binding tight. Faint price stamp to front free endpaper. Pages clean and unmarked. Catalogue of the Wyeth retrospective organized by the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, October 8 to November 27, 1966, which travelled to the Baltimore Museum of Art, December 13, 1966 to January 22, 1967, the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, February 14 to April 2, 1967, and the Art Institute of Chicago, April 21 to June 4, 1967. 222 works are listed chronologically, each with medium, dimensions and lender, many with Wyeth's own account of how the picture came about. Includes Christina's World, lent by the Museum of Modern Art, along with Public Sale, Miss Olson, Distant Thunder, Up in the Studio and Albert's Son, lent by the National Gallery of Oslo. Text by Edgar P. Richardson, the catalogue arranged chronologically on his advice to show the artist's development from his early training under his father, N. C. Wyeth.
