In Very Good condition, no dust jacket. Pictorial paper over boards, cover a soft-focus color photograph by Pablo Vargas Lugo. Mild shelf wear with light bumping to corners and edges, a small patch of paper peeling at the head of the fore-edge on the front cover and at two corner tips. Binding tight. Red endpapers. Pages clean and unmarked. First catalogue published by La Coleccion Jumex, the Eugenio Lopez Alonso collection at Ecatepec, and issued for the fifth exhibition it organized: shown at the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso, Mexico City, March 18 to June 15, 2003, and at the Biblioteca Luis Angel Arango, Bogota, May 15 to July 5, 2004. Patricia Martin and Patrick Charpenel built the show around the garden as a constructed memory of paradise, an order held against life's tendency to overflow it, and set contemporary work against Dore's Adam Watching Eve Sleep, Turner's Expulsion from Paradise and Caspar David Friedrich. Thirty-six artists, among them Bas Jan Ader, Doug Aitken, Francis Alys, Tacita Dean, Thomas Demand, Rineke Dijkstra, Olafur Eliasson, Fischli & Weiss, Felix Gonzalez Torres, Yayoi Kusama, Gabriel Orozco, Ugo Rondinone, Robert Smithson, Thomas Struth, Hiroshi Sugimoto and Cerith Wyn Evans. Essays by Martin and Pablo Vargas Lugo, by Charpenel and Baudelio Lara, and by Michel Blancsube. Printed in Ghent by Snoeck-Ducaju & Zoon.
