Mission Bells Music Publishing Co., Published 1922. Sheet music, 6 pp.; 31 cm; color pictorial cover signed L. Bursk.
In Good condition. Color pictorial cover with creasing and light chipping at the corners and a few short edge tears; folded spine split along the fold and repaired with white cloth tape, the tape lifting at the foot; two previous owners' names in ink and pencil on the front cover; light surface wear and soiling. Back cover plain with a faint stain at the lower corner. Interior pages clean and unmarked. An uncommon regional imprint: words and music are by R. Chandler Kyle, and the sheet was issued by Mission Bells Music Publishing Co., a small Riverside, California house (First National Building) that appears in no standard reference and stands well apart from the New York Tin Pan Alley trade. The color Art Deco cover, a young man crouched among red foliage before a mountain lake with a cabin adrift in the clouds, is a striking lithograph signed by L. Bursk. Kyle and Bursk are otherwise unrecorded, and the title is genuinely scarce.
