Red pictorial paper over boards, front cover with a black-and-white photograph of a handler working a German Shepherd on a track; mild to moderate shelf and edge wear, light toning and staining to covers, some color loss along edges. Glen R. Johnson built a systematic training program grounded in observable canine behavior rather than the trial-and-error folklore that preceded it, and his method became the basis for Tracking Dog (TD) and Tracking Dog Excellent (TDX) work across the continent. Johnson began training dogs in England with the British Alsatian Association in 1960, studied sentry and police-dog work with the RAF and British police, and in Canada founded the Windsor All Breed Training and Tracking Club and directed a celebrated German Shepherd demonstration team. His own dog Avenger was the first to hold both the Canadian UDTX and American UDT together with Schutzhund III and FH degrees.
