In Very Good condition. Purple pictorial paper covers show light bumping increasing to edges and corners, mild shelf wear, a small chip to the color at the head of the spine, and some color loss along edges and spine. Binding tight, pages clean and unmarked. Souvenir catalog for the 2003 centennial of The Mount, Edith Wharton's estate at Lenox in the Berkshires, the only National Historic Landmark dedicated to Wharton. Leading interior designers each restaged a room of the house, and the catalog documents their work alongside essays on Wharton and her influence on American interior and landscape design. Rooms and their designers include the Forecourt and Entrance Hall (Michael Trapp), Main Stair Hall (Libby Cameron), the Gallery (Geoffrey Bradfield), Teddy Wharton's Den (Thomas Jayne), Edith Wharton's Library (Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill), the Drawing Room (Charlotte Moss), and the Dining Room (Bunny Williams). Essays are "A Passion for Houses" by Scott Marshall and "Edith Wharton and Her Impact on Architecture, Gardens, and Interiors" by Pauline C. Metcalf and Richard Guy Wilson, with a self-guided tour, ground, main, and bedroom floor plans, and a section on the gardens Wharton designed herself. Laura Bush served as honorary chairman of the celebration.
