In Very Good condition. Pictorial paper covers with French flaps; light bumping and creasing to edges and corners, and mild shelf wear. Binding tight; pages clean and unmarked. The authorized history and recipe book of Grossi Florentino at 80 Bourke Street, one of Australia's oldest and most celebrated restaurants, trading as the Cafe Florentino since 1928 on a site that began as a wine shop a decade earlier. Its upstairs Mural Room has been a fine-dining room since the 1930s, decorated to a design by Walter Butler with eight murals by pupils of the Australian artist Napier Waller. Published during the tenure of the Grossi family, who took over the restaurant in 1999 and gave it the Grossi Florentino name, this volume records that era: chef Guy Grossi contributes some eighty classic Italian recipes drawn from the Cellar Bar, the Grill, and the formal dining room, while journalist Jan McGuinness supplies the restaurant's history and a roll of patrons running from prime ministers Bob Hawke and Paul Keating to the actor Geoffrey Rush.
