In Very Good condition, no dust jacket. Brown cloth boards, gilt rules and lettering on front board and spine, with a pasted-on steel-engraved view of Bobbi and Val Pellice on the front panel. Mild shelf and edge wear with slight bumping to the top edge and front corner. Binding tight. Presentation inscription from the author to a named recipient, signed by him in black ink on the front free endpaper. Pages otherwise clean and unmarked. A Waldensian family genealogy and local history tracing four generations of the Courdin family across a century and three continents, from the Waldensian valleys of the Cottian Alps (Val Pellice and Val Chisone) to the agricultural colony of Rosario Oriental in Uruguay, settled 1858, and on to the Ozarks of southwest Missouri, where a branch settled near Monett and Purdy in the 1880s. Drawn from family correspondence in French, church and civil records, photographs, and maps, with chapters on the allied Planchon, Lautaret, Long, and Combe families. Edited by Carol Staley.
