In Acceptable condition. Pictorial paper covers with bumping and creasing to corners and edges, mild shelf wear, and some color loss along edges and spine. Spine creased. Glued binding is brittle and beginning to crack but all pages remain attached. Pages lightly toned. Otherwise unmarked. An account of the Lewis and Clark Expedition told as the story of the Corps of Volunteers for Northwest Discovery, the pioneer American military organization charged with discovery and peacemaking among the Indian nations. Constance Bordwell interweaves her narrative with first-hand selections from the captains' journals, drawn from Reuben Gold Thwaites' Original Journals of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, 1804-1806.
