Condition & notes

In Very Good condition. Illustrated color paper covers with mild shelf wear, light soiling, and mild toning. Staple-bound binding tight. Pages toned but otherwise unmarked. Christmas 1960 issue of the bi-monthly house organ published by and for the employees of the Knudsen Creamery Co. of California, edited by John Kieldrup under director Leonard F. Greenburg. Illustrated holiday covers depict a family sleigh ride and a horse approaching a snowbound farmhouse. Season's greetings from chairman T. M. Knudsen and president R. E. Osborne open the issue, followed by "Old Christmas Beliefs" folklore, "The Story Behind our Service Pins," "Producers' Open House," and "Royal Visitors," a photo report on the Southern California visit of Denmark's King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid (with a translated letter of thanks from the Queen). Also includes the "Knudsen Karnival and Open House," "Tips for Holiday Entertaining" recipes, a Highway Patrol "Drinking and Driving" feature with "A Policeman's Letter to Santa," and Community Chest news. A scarce piece of Southern California dairy and advertising ephemera, with Danish-American crossover interest.
