In Good condition. Yellow illustrated paper covers (carnival masks design) with light bumping and creasing to edges and corners, and a chip to the top corner of the rear cover. A few small chips and tears to edges and corners. Mild to moderate shelf wear with some soiling, spotting, and color loss. Binding tight, staple bound. Pages toned but otherwise unmarked.Carnaval 1965 issue (Ano XXXII, No. 173) of a Porto Alegre popular-song magazine founded in 1933, printing the lyrics of the season's marchinhas and sambas alongside radio columns, fan-club pages, and photographs of leading performers. The 1965 carnival fell in the year of Rio de Janeiro's fourth centenary, and the songbook gathers the hits that marked it: Joao Roberto Kelly's "Rancho da Praca Onze" and the samba "Quatrocentao," both saluting the anniversary, and Kelly's "Mulata Ie Ie Ie," one of the year's defining marchinhas, recorded by Emilinha Borba. Performers pictured and credited include Emilinha Borba, the "Rainha do Radio" of Brazil's golden radio age, Dircinha Batista, Orlando Dias, Jorge Veiga, and Eliette Cardoso, with recordings also credited to Orlando Silva.
