In Good condition. Illustrated blue paper covers with French flaps, the front cover with a painted portrait of President José María Lemus. A couple of nicks and short tears, half an inch or less, to the paper at the head and foot of the spine, with bumping and creasing to edges and corners. Mild to moderate overall shelf wear with some color loss along the edges and spine. Staple binding sound. Pages moderately toned with occasional corner creasing, light spotting, and foxing to the fore edge of the text block, otherwise unmarked.A campaign-era political biography of José María Lemus (1911-1993), published in 1956, the year he assumed the presidency of El Salvador, in the Los Caudillos series. The Peruvian journalist Eleodoro Ventocilla traces Lemus's life and career and his identification with the Salvadoran Revolution dating from 14 December 1948.
