In Very Good condition with a Very Good dust jacket. Gray cloth boards, maroon lettering on front cover and spine; mild shelf wear and a hint of soiling to cover edges. Binding tight; pages clean and unmarked. Pictorial dust jacket shows Goodall's watercolor of an Edwardian park promenade; a few small nicks and tears, line creasing along edges, and mild shelf wear and toning. Now in an archival quality (removable) Brodart cover. A wordless picture book rendered entirely in John S. Goodall's detailed watercolors, depicting the Edwardian social "Season," when Britain's aristocratic and wealthy families converged on London for a round of entertainments. Goodall's interleaved half-pages carry the viewer from the Private View at the Royal Academy and presentation at Court through the coming-out dance, the Royal Opera, Derby Day, Royal Ascot, Henley Regatta, and Buckingham Palace garden parties to the closing Cowes Regatta. A companion to the artist's An Edwardian Summer, An Edwardian Christmas, and An Edwardian Holiday.
