Condition & notes

In very good condition. Glossy illustrated wraps (the artist's abstract painting in red and black) show light bumping and creasing to edges and corners and mild shelf wear. Staple binding is tight. Presentation inscription in blue ink by the artist on front endpaper, signed and dated January 1999. Otherwise unmarked. Catalog of "Traces of Realm" (Jing Hen), the 1998 solo exhibition of Taiwanese abstract painter Tung Hsin Ru at the Taipei County Cultural Center, her first major solo show in Taiwan after completing an MFA at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn (1993). Color plates reproduce large abstract mixed-media canvases from the Traces of Realm, Shang-Hai Ching, and Image of Heart series, each captioned in English with medium and dimensions. With an artist's statement and an essay by writer Ma Jian, and a bilingual chronology with portrait. Tung's work is held by the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts.
