In Very Good condition, no dust jacket. Pictorial matte wraps reproduce a bronze sculpture detail by Beasley spanning the front and back covers; covers have mild shelf wear with light bumping to the edges. Binding is tight. Interior pages are clean and bright. Otherwise unmarked.Bruce Beasley (b. 1939, Los Angeles; based in Oakland, California) is an American sculptor active since the early 1960s, known for monumental geometric work in bronze, steel, and aluminum. His assemblage "Chorus" was acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in 1962, at the time making him the youngest artist in MoMA's permanent collection; his work is now held by the Guggenheim, LACMA, SFMOMA, and roughly forty other museums in the United States and abroad.Exhibition catalogue published by Pangolin London for "Bruce Beasley," the gallery's solo show of the artist's sculpture held 28 June through 25 August 2012 at Kings Place. The catalogue carries a foreword by Rungwe Kingdon, sculptor and founder (with Claude Koenig) of Pangolin London and of Pangolin Editions, the bronze foundry that cast much of the work shown. Sculpture from across Beasley's career is reproduced (works dated 1990 through 2012), including "Tenacity" (1990), "Solid Sequence" (1993), "Ally" (1997), "Advocate II" (2002), "Outreach II" (2002), "Horizon" (2006), and the new bronze "Homage to Wegener" (2012); each plate gives title, date, medium, edition, and dimensions.
