In Good condition. Color illustrated front cover by Cpl. Louis S. Glanzman depicting B-17 Flying Fortresses in flight against the Winged Victory of Samothrace. The blue paper covers show moderate shelf wear with some color loss along edges, bumping and creasing to edges and corners, and several small nicks and tears at the top and bottom of the spine and along the edges. The staple-bound binding is intact. Interior pages lightly toned. Otherwise unmarked.Souvenir program issued by the U.S. Army Air Forces for the national road tour of Moss Hart's play Winged Victory, following the production's seven-month Broadway run that opened November 20, 1943, at the 44th Street Theatre in New York. The 26-week road tour visited Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Washington, and Baltimore. The production featured a cast composed entirely of Army Air Forces personnel. All proceeds from the sale of the program went to Army charities. Original music and arrangements by S/Sgt. David Rose, choral direction by 1st Lt. Leonard de Paur, settings designed by T/Sgt. Harry Horner, costumes by Sgt. Howard Shoup, lighting by S/Sgt. Abe Feder. The program was prepared under the supervision of Lt. Col. James H. Straubel with editorial staff including T/Sgt. Richard M. Powers and Sgt. Irving Kolodin (assistant editors), Capt. Aaron E. Hotchner (picture editor), and Cpl. Tom T. Bevans (art director). Contains a foreword by General H. H. Arnold, Commanding General, Army Air Forces, with a printed facsimile of his signature.
